The best way to store seeds is in a waterproof container in either the freezer or refrigerator. This method will work with most seeds and helps prolong their viability. I have had seeds that are ten years old germinate and grow using this method.

Store Seeds In Your Refrigerator
To help seeds maintain viability store them in airtight, waterproof containers in the refrigerator or freezer. I have done this and have had seeds germinate that have been over ten years old. The cooler temperatures are also just what some seeds need to trigger germination.
